Film Festivals

Helping new, creative films find wider audiences is a major reason we started Zeitbyte.  Picking creative content is hardly the strong suit of big corporations, driven by profit and ad budgets targeting the lowest-common-denominator, mass appeal.

So we designed our site to showcase the independent artists who are producing great, innovative work and to promote the film festivals showing it, like the New Filmmakers Series, where the THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT debuted, and the provocative Chick With Flicks.

Zeitbyte’s goal is to bring the film festival to a computer near you.

The NewFilmmakers Series began in 1998 and over the past seven years has screened over 400 feature and 1,500 short films. In 2000, we brought the Havana Film festival to new York and in 2002 we started NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Many well-known shorts and feaures have had their initial screenings at NewFilmmaker - including TOO MUCH SLEEP, ZERO DAY, and THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.
