‘Puppet Audition’ is an excellent example of filmmaker Ben Fine’s highly regarded animations.  Through his innovative stop-motion techniques, Mr. Fine is able to apply remarkably life-like movement s to his characters.  His method of lip-syncing is particularly impressive.  In this piece, which is really a character study, a weary puppet actor is betrays his anxiety during a common casting call.
