MTV (Music Television) is cable network channel headquartered in New York City with satellite bureaus throughout the world. Originally devoted to airing 24-hour commercial-free Music Videos, MTV's programming has eliminated nearly all music-oriented programming, and has become an outlet for a variety of different television shows aimed exclusively  at adolescents and young adults.
