El Canto Del Gallo

What seems to be a universal story of artists in New York City becomes a personal tale of young Cubans that face a reality that no one talks about back in their native country. Issues that they might not discuss with outsiders surface as they try to answer their own questions about their personal and professional frustrations, dreams, and strong determination to overcome the odds.

Banged Up

Set to the backdrop of the days leading up to the March Madness College Basketball Tournament. Mike, a low end gambler who loves to bet on the hoops and an outsider living in Manhattan, gets involved with some Irish Gents who grew up together in the old Brooklyn neighborhood in a "Package" delivery deal that goes horribly south. Mike now finds himself in their pocket and is forced to be in the game for one more play. Unfortunately for Mike, it looks like his luck of the Irish may be running out.

Intelligence
In a dark, Abbu Ghraib-like prison, three Arab detainees - one a hardware store owner, one a maitre ‘d and one possibly a dangerous terrorist – are interrogated by a team of U.S. military officials - including a sadistic intelligence officer, a weak-willed colonel and a woefully incompetent translator. In this satirical thriller, one simple slip of the tongue leads to the next in an escalating series of misunderstandings that culminates in tragedy and injustice. In “Intelligence,” director Michael Gaylin creates a Kubrickian nightmare, a pitch-black comedy, that seems to pose the question, “With people like this in charge of the ‘war on terror,’ what fate lies in store for us all?” Written by Emmy-award winning writer David Smilow, “Intelligence” is a chilling and all-too-relevant look at some of the troubling issues facing us as a nation at war.

Linear Progression
Strange creatures! Beautiful animation! Grass! What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Such conundrums abound in this charming traditionally drawn and digitally painted short. Simple but rich in its design, and with a dialogue track of only grunts and sighs, animation proves itself once again to be the universal story-telling language. Now, with over 25 festival screenings and counting, Linear Progression has been warmly welcomed into the world of independent animation and is charming audiences of all ages nationwide.
Post No Bills
Political heavy-weights populate this urgent and humorous documentary on the detonative mix of art and politics as embodied in the work of infamous "guerilla" poster artist Robbie Conal, a professional painter who estimates that an approximate 70,000 of his caricatured paintings-as-posters have been splattered across the United States' urban streets, militantly affixed by himself and his cult following of urban guerilla volunteers to construction sites, traffic light switching boxes and any other surface area large enough to house one of these satirical images.
Death of a Gentleman

DEATH OF A GENTLEMAN is a short film about me visiting myself as an old man preparing for death. But it's funny too. Hints of my past loom about in the form of me as a young boy. And a beautiful woman emanates a relinquished love - or love relinquished. Absurdity and daunting introspection meet in this deeply personal work by me (Matthew Lancit).

She is currently a student at NYU's Graduate School in Broadcast Journalism and is eager to make films about people other than herself.

Will the journalist finally prevail or will he end up without a clue as usual? One thing's for sure: the truth is out there... he's just not entirely sure where.

The Pacific and Eddy

Ryan Donowho and Dominique Swain star in this challenging and beautifully shot coming of age story.

In the wake of a sudden loss, Eddy (Ryan Donowho) unexpectedly skips town, leaving his friends to mourn for him. A vagabond musician, Eddy runs until there is was nowhere left to run to but home. The Pacific and Eddy captures the uncertainty of a time when indenties begin to reveal themselves. Finding refuge in the swells of the Pacific, Eddy must look inward to deal with the loss he truly never mourned. Following in the tradition Blow Up and Code Unknown where story information is oblique and often challenging, The Pacific and Eddy keeps the audience enchanted by it's subtle mystique and visual beauty. In addition to these core elements, music is monumental in the film's effectiveness and emotional resonance.
